    Arrival

Upon arrival, the vehicle license plate is entered into the hand-held Pc to check for a previously entered customer record. A match will fetch vehicle make/model/color and customer name information within 2 seconds, providing the valet with the opportunity to greet the repeat customer by name. First-time customer information may be entered into the hand-held or simply written onto the ticket for back-end input at the cashier/dispatch terminal.

A frequent parker identified with a bar-coded window decal can be given the VIP treatment, which includes ticket-less processing and automatic retrieval.

Ticket issuance can be handled a number of ways. The hand-held can send a print job to a desk-top or lane mounted ticket printer, which will issue a 4 part thermal card-stock bar-coded ticket.

As an alternative method, a pre-printed ticket may be ‘tagged’ to the existing customer record by using the hand-held Pc and scanning the ticket’s bar-code.

At this point, vehicle and customer information has been attached to a new ticket number and entered into the system as ‘arrived’.

    Parking the Vehicle

En route to park the vehicle, an optional digital camera gate with a garage entry kiosk can be installed to capture the vehicle’s pre-existing condition and tag the valet attendant as the ‘parked by’ employee. After the vehicle is parked, the attendant will bring the keys/tag back to the cashier/dispatch station for remaining data-entry (parking space at the minimum).

    Customer Return

The customer has several options after de-planning.

    • Via cell-phone, he/she can dial the telephone # which is pre-printed on the back of the ticket. A voice-prompt will ask him/her to input the ticket number. Upon verification, the customer may hang up while the ticket number is electronically sent to the valet request monitor screen. If the customer has authorized for the credit card to be kept on file, the card can be charged and the vehicle returned with a receipt waiting inside.
    • Via customer request kiosk, which can be located near the baggage or valet shuttle pick-up area. The customer can simply scan his/her valet ticket to request the vehicle (which in turn could alert the shuttle) and pay the parking fee by credit card (optional).
